Text Box: able to see the hole cards at the end giving you more information on how each opponent is betting.
Whether you’re a pro playing at a high stakes cash game or an amateur playing free poker, table position is definitely something to consider. Next time a player raises under the gun ask yourself, “What hand could they have?” “Are they short stacked?” “Are they trying to steal the blinds with a big raise in first position?” “Do they know what table position is?” This will give you the information you need to decide whether you should call, raise, or fold.
Text Box: Table Position by Stacey North

Text Box: Professional poker players will tell you table position is everything. Where you sit in respect to the dealer button should dictate how much you will come into the pot with and more importantly if you should even play, depending on your hole cards. There are literally thousands of books out there that give a list of starting hands and how you should bet these hands depending on your position. This is all subjective information and you should take into consideration who you are playing with, your chip stack, and what game you are playing (NL or limit and free or cash).
Text Box: You may have heard someone at the table say, “position bet” referring to the player with the dealer button who has just raised before the flop. Either the action has folded to them or they may sense weakness amongst the other players who just limped in and use the dealer button to try to steal the pot right there or after the flop because they will be last to act. Of course, they could also have a legitimate hand. Your best bet is to watch how each player bets not only when they have the button but in every other position, if you can. More importantly, watch the action after the flop. Hopefully you will be Text Box: cheaper but you will be competing with hundreds (or thousands) of others for the same seat.
